Rain Shortens program at Cherry Speedway

The night started out with blue skies and a good outlook to run the second show of the year at Cherry Speedway this past Friday. Fast qualifiers were Rick Wilson in Super Street Stock with a lap of 16.807, Larry Cade logged a time of 15.905 for the Michigan Modified Association while Kyle Cole set the time to beat at 14.938 in Late Model action.

Rail Rokos carried the checkers in the four car dash for the Late Model division while Steve Nieuwenhuis scored the victory in heat race #1 followed by Adam Erickson and Ron Ramoie. Heat #2 win went to Brett Chalker over Clay Chambers and Chad Wright.

Brent Banning won the dash for the Michigan Modified Association with Dennis Taghon carring the checkers in the first heat over Bob Green and Dan Paige. Heat race #2 victory went to Kieth Booth followed by Antero Tarvudd and Greg Town.

Dan Hersey scored the dash win in the Super Street Stock class and made his way to victory lane for the second time of the night in the first heat race followed by Richard Clay and Justin Clous. In the second heat race, Zeke Chambers carried the checkers over Rick Wilson and Matt Titus.

John Lehn carried the checkers in the MORA dash for cash with Paul Buckler scoring the win in the first heat race over Doug Roush and Floyd Roush. Brian Ward picked up the win in heat #2 followed by Randy Plamondon and Justin Ward.

Christopher carried the checkers in the first heat race for the Cruiser/Bombers followed by Jeremy Frye and Bill Edwards. In the second heat race, Ed Kler scored the win over Karl McClellan and Randy Day.

4-Cyulinder compact action saw Jess Chambers make his way to victory lane in the heat race followed by Joe Kelly, Allen Oyer and Brandon Schaub. In the only feature race of the night before the rains came, Tyler Wagener jumped into the lead and led the race flag to flag to score the win over Joe Kelly, Brittany Morris, Eli Hittle Jr., Jess Chambers, Mark Phillips, Levi McMullen, Andy Nickerson III, Brandon Schaub and Allen Oyer.

This Friday, double features for those in attendance for last weeks rained out features in the Cruiser/Bomber, Super Street Stock, Michigan Modified and Late Model Classes.
